Siemens begins construction of first turbine blades factory for EUR100 million
Siemens has begun constructing its first wind turbines blade factory in Egypt, according to Mohamed El Sebky, Head of the New and Renewable Energy Authority. He further added that the company had acquired a 70,000 sqm area in Ain Sokhna to build the plant for cEUR100 million. The Energy Authority agreed with Siemens to build 12 wind farms in the Gulf of Suez and West Nile areas consisting of c600 turbines with a combined capacity of 2,000 MW of power. (Al Mal)
